Natural Disasters are random events in Plague Inc.. Once a natural disaster occurs, the player will be notified via RMS/WHO reports. A natural disaster kills people in the affected country, with deaths ranging from less than one hundred people to several thousand. Keep in mind that the player's plague is not the cause of those deaths, and as such, his/her plague will not be spotted. A Natural Disaster can kill off infected people in a country, and if the infected count is still low, this can reset all of one's progress in that country. It can also cause the destruction of research facilities and labs, and will slow cure research in said country.

Earthquake[]

An Earthquake is a natural disaster that occurs during the game. It may kill hundreds, or even thousands, of people in a select country for the player. It can destroy 1 or 2 cure research facilities in said country, and often puts the country in the state "General Disruption." In very rare cases, two disasters in one country within a few years of each other can put the country in "Widespread Disorder" without the plague even being introduced to the country.

Trivia[]

  • Because the world population never increases due to no events causing birth, it could be that if one waits an indefinitely long time, the world population would reach 0, if the chance of natural disasters happening never reaches 0.
  • In rarer cases, a tsunami can hit a landlocked country.
